About Us

It's not a turtle, it's a tortoise...

We’ve combined our love of grapes & winemaking with hosting guests to our region in two luxury B&B's.

About Us

Our family has combined our love of growing grapes with hosting guests to our region in two luxury, self-contained houses in the picturesque Piccadilly Valley, situated near Crafers and Uraidla, both surrounded by cool climate vines.

Esto house is the renovation and modernisation in 2016 of a post war market garden family home. The house, which once stood vacant, has been given a new lease of life and lovingly restored to become the stylish and comfortable retreat it is today.

The Other House was renovated and opened in 2018, offering a traditional, cosy Adelaide Hills bluestone cottage, circa 1900, with sweeping valley views towards Uraidla and Mt Lofty. We hope you’ll visit us and enjoy the best of the Adelaide Hills and South Australia right from your very own place in the beautiful Piccadilly Valley.

Vineyards

The vineyards comprise 10 acres of premium Pinot and Sangiovese vines near Esto House, planted over 4 years from 1997 to 2001, and the larger Deanery vineyards planted in 1994 near Balhannah, where we grow Chardonnay, Sauvingnion Blanc, Semillon, Shiraz, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Fiano grapes.

Our grapes are sold to an array of well-known winemakers and companies including Grossett Wines, Murdoch Hill, Deviation Road, Ashton Hills, Charlotte Dalton, Lucy Margaux (our small organic block at the rear of the Esto house), Bird in Hand and Petaluma Wines.
